Neon Excelda Ltd was the second neon sign company to start up after Claudgen started the idea of illuminated signs.
I ran it for 17 years and then ‘sold ‘ on the guys running it for me. It was started by my Uncle Harold James sometime in the late 1920’s or early 1930’s

We were extremely impressed with the quality of the neon signs we had produced by A1 - not to mention fantastic service we received. We were using one of the signs for a photo shoot and managed to break part of the neon tubing on route to the shoot. Within a couple of hours phoning A1 to explain our predicament, we had the sign repaired and back in time for the afternoon shoot. If the guys at A1 hadn’t been so helpful and willing that day we would have wasted literally thousands of pounds on equipment, photographers and studio hire. I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone and we will certainly be using them again.
